• This mechanical adapter essentially shields the lambda sensor so that it still reads exhaust gas data but moves the lambda sensor away from the direct flow of exhaust gases.
• The control unit thus thinks that there is a restriction between the lambdas, just as if there were a catalyst between them.
• For some vehicles, it is also necessary to reset the control unit (simply disconnect the battery for a few minutes).
